Lag compensation has always been an issue in Call of Duty games due to Activision’s reluctance to fork out for dedicated servers, though it seems to be a much more common issue in Advanced Warfare. When asked by a user if dedicated servers will be introduced on the PC or console versions of the game, Condrey simply replied: “yes.” There has still been no timescale on when this will happen, and no official statement from either Activision or Sledgehammer Games. Prior to the game’s release plenty of threads were posted on the r/CODAW subreddit asking for dedicated servers, with Michael Condrey bluntly addressing the issue in a Q&A on the site.
